Jeff Whitney

Campus Chaplain

Chaplain Jeff and his wife Darla, have 5 children and 5 grandchildren who all live within the Redmond/Bend area. He has been a Lead Pastor for the past 35 years but retired last year and moved to Central Oregon to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

He has a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Northwest Nazarene University and a Master of Divinity from the Nazarene Theological Seminary.

He shares "I love that I will be teaching from the Word of God that has changed and shaped my life in so many ways. Recent studies have shown that Bible engagement is the single most powerful predictor of spiritual growth in your life. My prayer is that my students will grow in their love, knowledge and appreciation of the Bible, and that they will take this love with them for the rest of their lives.  I come from a very musical family - I was singing in church as a small child and have played the trumpet since junior high school. The trumpet has allowed me to play in a variety of bands and groups, and travel to different places like the Caribbean and the British Isles when I was in college. I still enjoy singing and playing today."
